Since the birth of the brand, GGY Collections has had presentations at different fashion shows. The very first fashion show was before the official launching of the brand at the Women’s Hats & Tea Party. It was an all black and white, 8 pieces, ready to wear collection. The second fashion show was the actual launching of the brand. The show was an African print inspired collection in honor of her African heritage. What better way to launch a brand amongst your own African community members. The response was heartwarming and felt close to home. On another milestone, GGY Collections was one of the designers who showcased their collection at the very first Ebony Fashion Week Seattle Washington USA which has continued to be held annually during Black History month- February. Being that the founder supports community services, GGY Collections was also very honored to show their collection at a fundraiser for a charity event during Fashion at The Braven in Bellevue Washington, USA. Amongst the professional runway models was the beautiful Miss Washington USA 2018- Abigail Hill and International Junior Miss Teen Washington USA 2018-2019-Summer Keffeler.
For every designer, the most satisfying experience is being able to see their designs come to life through their clients. GGY Collections has had opportunities to dress not only friends, local, nationwide and international clients but also household names like The 1st African Union Pageant Queen 2019, Lukwesa Morin, Miss Universe Zambia/Mrs World Zambia 2021-Top 15 Mrs World 2022, Alice Rowland Musukwa, The World Class Beauty Queen North America Ambassador 2021- Cassandra Wallace who wore a red haute couture elegant gown with a long detachable tulle skirt at the red carpet during the Oscars 2022 and not forgetting her very own daughter Thandi Chirwa who is a Junior Media Anchor for Channel ATV. Thandi wore a GGY Winter Collections 2021-22 pink & black one shoulder 8 paneled skater mini dress at the HAPA Awards red carpet in Los Angeles.
